THE GREENSEAT ORGANISATION

GreenSeat has been offering compensation of aitravel related emissions for over 3 years under the COOL Flying label. We are a small organisation so we can keep overheads as low as possible but we use a network of other organisations to make the GreenSeat system work.

GreenSeat is based in the Netherlands but travellers from all over the world can compensate their flights through this website. The GreenSeat compensation module is available to any airline or travel organisation in any country. Our climate is a global system and therefore GreenSeat has a global scope.

GreenSeat is a company with an idealistic goal: we put trees ahead of profit. We are a business so we can run an efficient operation that is not dependent on subsidies. And although we are not in it for a big financial profit, we definitely don't want to make a loss! We measure our profit in terms of the number of trees that we have planted as well as in a sound financial performance so that we can keep on operating in the future.

GreenSeat is a brand of Climate Neutral Group, a social business enterprise seated in the Netherlands. THE GREENSEAT PHILOSOPHY

We belief that the only way forward on our over-populated world is to move towards a more sustainable economy. This means that there is no impact of our actions on the natural environment.

When we decide to fly we can’t get around the pollution (CO2 and other gases) that this causes, but we can compensate for these emisssions by investing in renewable energy projects and by planting and protecting trees that ‘soak up’ the CO2 as they grow. We want to make this type of compensation easily accessible to all air travellers by including the GreenSeat option in the standard (on-line) booking procedure of airlines and travel organisations.

In the future every seat should be a GreenSeat!
