Fakarava, ranked Biosphere Protected Area by the UNESCO, offers a variety of underwater sights relatively unknown but really spectacular. This untouched land features offers divers a rich ecosystem of underwater topography, thrilling pass dives, and huge variety of marine life.
The lagoon is the second largest after Rangiroa and stretches over 37 miles with pass dives at both the northern and southern end. Species most commonly encountered include Napoleon wrasse, seapikes, damselfish, bigeyes, marbled groupers, manta rays, and sharks.

Fakarava: Second largest atoll after Rangiroa and ancient capital of the Tuamotu Archipelago, Fakarava is filled with numerous unexplored "motus" (islets) awaiting new adventurers to discover those pink sand beaches shaded by rows of coconut trees and crystal- ear waters. Protected by the UNESCO charts, Fakarava is proud of its biosphere and rare crustaceans such as squills or sea cicadas.
