ISLANDS:
Tahiti: Two volcanoes emerging from an emerald sea gave birth to the myth of paradise known today as the largest of the Polynesian islands with an area of 1,042 sq km (651 sq mi): steep cloud-draped mountains, deep verdant valleys, luxuriant ferns, swift, invigorating rivers and black sand beaches await you on this "island of love".
Huahine: Huahine, also called "the Woman Island", overflows with a savage allure that makes her exceptionally attractive: her velvet slopes draped in exuberant tropical vegetation, her mirror-like lagoon reflecting the phosphorescent coral formations that lay scattered in their silent abode and her numerous snowy white sand beaches that envelope her in virginal modesty.
Raiatea:the sacred "Havai" is known to be the first island where the first Maoris disembarked more than 1,000 years ago from huge bamboo canoes. Rebaptised by the daughter of Queen Rai and warrior Atea in memory of her deceased parents, the island became "Raiatea" which means "soft light skies". According to the legend, Raiatea would be the departing point for warriors' souls to the Maori's homeland, Hawaiki.
Bora Bora: "The Pearl of the Pacific", as Captain Cook baptised her bears the magic of the most beautiful Polynesian islands. This ancient stretched volcano shows its two peaks, Mounts Pahia and Otemanu, whose green colors stand out against the jade, turquoise and sapphire shades of the lagoon.
